VH298 induces pexophagy via HIF-1α activation. ( A ) RPE/mRFP–EGFP–SKL cells pretreated with VH298 (50 µM) for 42 h were further incubated with or without cycloheximide (10 µg/mL) for 6 h. The cells were then imaged by using a fluorescence microscope. The percentage of puncta exhibiting EGFP(+)- and mRFP(+)-labeled autophagosomes or EGFP(−)- and mRFP(+)-labeled autolysosomes per cell was determined.
